I have heard from many teachers that they feel as if the current school board members
don’t get it when it comes to issues concerning Plano teachers and staff.
This is probably a major contributor to Plano's higher than average turnover rate.
As a parent that works closely
with his children’s teachers, Steve Navarre “gets it!”
Teachers deserve a school board member they know is on their side!
My pledge to the teachers and staff of Plano ISD:
- Work to improve Plano ISD teacher compensation.
- Present balanced budget solutions that limit increases in class sizes
- Fight to ensure that cutting teachers and staff aren’t the first ideas when balancing the school district budget
- Develop full 360 review process so teachers can give reviews of administrators
- Move for improved programs to retain the good teachers we have in Plano ISD schools
- Push to increase teacher training opportunities.
- Insist on a stronger district-wide program that promotes more student respect in the classrooms
- Encourage an environment that promotes better communication with teacher and parent
- Maintain an open door policy with me to freely discuss concerns and issues even at a campus level
