As a parent with children currently in Plano ISD schools, I understand what it is
like to juggle family, work and education on a daily basis. I encourage every parent to be active in their child’s education but I understand
that is difficult while we worry about the economy, lay-offs and paying the mortgage. Leadership in these troubled times is
important. Parents deserve school board member leadership they can trust!
My pledge to the parents of Plano ISD:
- Move to increase district and school state accountability report card scores.
- Set higher expectations in learning beyond the TAKS test.
- Fight to limit increasing elementary school class room sizes.
- Work to retain the good teachers we have in Plano ISD schools.
- Suggest approaches to expand Science, Math and Technology programs.
- Encourage preservation of the current outstanding Fine Arts programs.
- Vote to enhance alternative education through certificate programs.
- Promote true local control of schools.
- Propose programs at a local campus to promote classroom transparency.
- Foster an environment that promotes better communication with parents and teachers.
- Maintain an open door policy with me for parents to freely discuss concerns and issues
